About Dr. Susan Brace

I am a licensed, clinical psychologist, a registered nurse, and a training and supervising psychoanalyst. I am also Board Certified in Medical Psychotherapy.

My office is located in Marshdale, Colorado - between Evergreen and Conifer - in the Evergreen Professional and Technical Center just off of Highway 73 in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains west of Denver.

I have over 22 years of experience working in the mental health field. I maintain a private practice in which I provide a broad scope of psychotherapy treatment options, in an effort to meet the multiplicity of needs in the local front range communities of Bailey, Conifer, Indian Hills, Marshdale, Evergreen, Kittredge, Morrison, Pine, and west Denver.

Mission Statement

I offer a safe, confidential, and professional setting where the most personal topics can be discussed in comfort and privacy.

I work with adults, and adolescents over the age of 16, on a variety of problems, including: depression; anxiety; grief and loss; relationship difficulties; trauma; childhood abuse; womens’ issues; alcohol and drug addiction; maintaining sobriety; parenting; bipolar disorders; and health and illness issues.

I offer counseling to couples as well, to improve their communication skills for the support of their love and attachment. I assist those seeking relationships to explore their needs and desires and to uncover the roadblocks which have prevented them from success in the past. I help each member of the couple to understand the changes necessary for engaging in satisfying emotional and physical partnerships.

I have extensive experience in dealing with adults who have suffered trauma, who are depressed, lonely, scared, and deeply unhappy.

I have frequently worked with anger management, addiction and its impact on couples and families.

I have many years of treating adults abused as children, adult children of alcoholics and co-dependency.

In addition I am experienced in providing psychotherapy and support during acute periods of loss and life change.

I have provided therapy to the dying and their families, both in and outside of hospice. And I offer medical psychotherapy to those in chronic pain from incurable disease processes like multiple sclerosis, HIV, cancer, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and end-stage neurological and cardiac conditions.
