Hello, and welcome to my website.
My name is Dr. Susan Brace. I am a licensed, clinical psychologist, a registered nurse, and a training and supervising psychoanalyst. I am also Board Certified in Medical Psychotherapy.
My office is located in Marshdale, Colorado - between Evergreen and Conifer - in the Evergreen Professional and Technical Center just off of Highway 73 in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains west of Denver.
I have over 22 years of experience working in the mental health field. I maintain a private practice in which I provide a broad scope of psychotherapy treatment options, in an effort to meet the multiplicity of needs in the local front range communities of Bailey, Conifer, Indian Hills, Marshdale, Evergreen, Kittredge, Morrison, Pine, and west Denver.
Please take some time to browse through my website to get a feel for the work that I do and my personal approach to a variety of therapeutic treatments. My goal is to bring you a website that can offer you information and education about the typical types of problems that folks bring to psychotherapy, and insights on how to improve your life and relationships. If after going through the information in my website, you still have questions, I hope you will contact me by telephone so that we can further discuss your concerns. | |
SERVICES
In the SERVICES section of this website you will find a brief summary of the different services I provide. These include: individual psychotherapy, couples or marital therapy, group therapy, professional supervision for mental health workers in training, consultation for licensed mental health workers, and seminars for educational purposes. I have a specialty in training First Responders and in teaching on Death and Dying. If you are not sure which of my services would best fit your needs, please call me, and perhaps by discussing it together, you will be clearer about how I may help you.
TREATMENT
The TYPES OF TREATMENT section contains a brief overview of some of the different kinds of treatment I offer. Optimally, therapy is individualized to treat a specific patient. No one type of treatment or theoretical orientation is distinguishable as we move from history-taking, to delineating the problem, to working out possible solutions. The types of treatment include several different approaches to psychotherapy. They are: cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, medical psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis.
PSYCHOTHERAPY
The PSYCHOTHERAPY section is designed to assist you in understanding what therapy is and how it works. By reading this section, you’ll obtain an idea of how a trained listener with empathic responses, can change your perspective and help you move through obstructions to a more satisfying life.
FAQ
If you are looking for some clarification about how to find and pick a therapist, what using insurance involves, the differences between the types of practitioners who offer therapy, and what happens if you can’t afford therapy, the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) section will be very helpful for you.
RESOURCES
This part of my website provides a variety of RESOURCES which may come in handy. Included are a number of self-help books which I have listed under subject headings, as well as a number of links to therapeutic and informational websites. |
